I tried to pinpoint the problem in this thread.
Now, I can rephrase and simplify the question.
I’m running the latest Arch on a ThinkPad X201, with a new battery. Upon shutdown -h now, the laptop shuts down without error.
With the laptop running on battery, after shutting down:
When I leave the battery inside and wait 16 hours, there is considerable drain (10 %).
When I remove the battery and immediately put it back in, then wait 16 hours, there is no relevant drain.
Taking the battery out for just a moment prevents the drain.
What could cause the drain when I don’t remove the battery?
How can I avoid it (apart from unplugging the battery or keeping the laptop connected to external power)?
