Detachable microphone (on a headset) not working

Here's the problem I've been struggling with lately:

I've got a Creative Fatal1ty headset with regular, separate headphones and mic plugs.
It has a detachable microphone (there's an additional microphone jack on the headphones).

I'm using alsa with pulseaudio. Sound output works fine all the time, but mic only works when plugged DIRECTLY to the laptop's mic jack.
If the headphones' both plugs are plugged to the laptop and the mic is plugged into the jack on the headphones, the mic doesn't work - I only hear static noise.

I'm a real newbie to Arch.
I've been trying to track the problem down looking at alsamixer and pavucontrol options and I noticed that only plugging/unplugging whole headset from the laptop switches to built-in mic/speaker. Plugging/unplugging the mic from the on-headphones jack has no effect.

Here's the output from my alsamixer:

I've tried unmuting that "Dock Mic" and it's boost, but that's not it.

What can I do to try fixing the detachable microphone?
