I have a well-known problem: if I suspend the computer and then re-start it, the wifi is gone. I'm using NetworkManager but restarting NetworkManager.service doesn't help, and neither does logging out and back in. Instead, to solve the issue, I have to restart the laptop altogether. Here are some info:
uname -a --> Linux michele-laptop 4.13.4-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Sep 28 08:39:52 CEST 2017 x86_64 GNU/Linux
If I check with "dmesg -w", I get
ath: phy0: DMA failed to stop in 10 ms
My controller is a Atheros AR9485. Here is all the information I could find. I also found a setting in the BIOS about power saving when suspended and I disabled it. I know that this problem already occurred to many people, but apparently no one was able to give a real and complete answer to the question. Also, the problem appeared quite recently, qhile before everything had always work without issues. All suggestions are highly welcome!

After finding this discussion, I tried installing the linux-lts kernel. So now the situation is the following:
> uname -r
4.9.54-1-lts
Up to now, the problem seems fixed so it appears it really is a problem with the kernel 4.13.4. Hopefully, it will be fixed in the next release but, for the moment, I am happy like this.
