kernel config
Can you add to kernel CONFIG_APM_REAL_MODE_POWER_OFF? My laptop doesnt off correctly without this choice.

This option is notorious for causing problems with some (buggy) hardware, so it's not safe to enable it in a stock kernel. I'd suggest you compile your own kernel.
