HP-ScanJet 2400

The above link tells me that this scanner is unsupported but does that mean i have no way to use this scanner, but is there a way to tweak the edriver of some other scanner to run this??

no, there is no way short of writing a driver that works yourself. If you search the sane mailinglist you'll see that multiple people have stepped up to make a driver for this scanner but nothing have come of it for unknown reasons.. which is sad because many people have it.
