[Solved]Where is the "system service scripts directory" in Arch Linux?

I am trying to install VMware, while following the wiki. Right after accepting the terms, the installer is asking me to specify the "system service scripts directory". Here is a screenshot: https://imgur.com/LW045qU. I know that since Arch uses systemd, /etc/init.d/ isn't valid, so where is it?

Arch doesn't use service scripts, so 'null' is the answer to your question. However, since you want to use vmware, it needs to put it's scripts somewhere, and /etc/init.d is as good a place as any.

Please read the wiki again

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/VMware
For the System service scripts directory, use /etc/init.d (the default).
Note: During the installation you will get an error about "No rc*.d style init script directories" being given. This can be safely ignored, since Arch uses systemd.

...

systemd services
(Optional) Instead of using /etc/init.d/vmware (start|stop|status|restart) and /usr/bin/vmware-usbarbitrator directly to manage the services, you may also use .service files (also available in the vmware-systemd-servicesAUR package, and also included in vmware-patchAUR):
...

Thanks, I did not notice this!

You are replying to a 7 year old thread. Chances vmware has switched by now are high. Please don't necrobump: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Genera … bumping%22

Closing.
