I really don't know what the problem is, but since recent update, I can't play YouTube videos in otter-browser (a qt5-webkit based browser) and minitube. However, other video websites work in the browser, and YouTube works fine in Firefox, for instance. I tried downgrading few packages that came with the recent update and seemed related (qt5-multimedia and gst-plugins-bad), but it didn't help. I don't get any useful terminal output from the applications I mentioned. Do you know a way to troubleshoot it?

Does Qupzilla work?

At here the qml mediaplayer stopped to play some formats (avi, mp4, ...) - http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qml-qtmultimedia-mediaplayer.html .
As a workaround the downgrading of the package ffmpeg (1:3.4-1 => 1:3.3.4-1) seems to help.
Same thing with the otter-browser & youtube. With the ffmpeg 1:3.4-1 the youtube is not working.

@ugjka It does work in Qupzilla, however it uses a separate set of codecs from qt5-webengine.
@Rog131 Thank you for your answer; when I downgraded ffmpeg, everything works well again. Is it a bug in ffmpeg?

I'm unable to play anything with ffmpeg 1:3.4-1 in kodi either
Downgrading fixes the issue as well.
