[SOLVED] Gdk-CRITICAL error with VIM -g / gvim

Within my window manager, when I run vim from a terminal emulator via a 'vim -g' command, errors show in the terminal emulator every time I resize the vim window. The errors consistently look like this:

(gvim:16367): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_device_update_tool: assertion 'GDK_IS_DEVICE (device)' failed

I'm not sure where to start checking on what is wrong, or how to fix. Vim operates normally (as far as I can tell), and really I wouldn't even know something wrong was happening if I didn't look back at the terminal.

Any advice?

By the way, I'm getting this when using the Evince pdf viewer also.

Looking into this more, it appears to happen more frequently because of unplugging my usb keyboard and tablet. At this point I'm unable to recreate by resizing the window, so this is most likely caused by something with usb, rather than these programs.
