Okay so I normally pass the audio from my PS4 into the back of my PC so I can redirect all the audio to my earphones so I can hear the console and my PC.
I bought a new PC and I think the motherboard is having incompatibilties with pulseaudio.
Everything works absolutely fine but when I redirect the audio with:
pactl load-module module-loopback latency_msec=1It works but I get this horrible crackling noise.
I have followed 2.5, 2.6, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pu … leshooting
Nothing is working I still get the crackling sound, I have tired changing cables and when the cable is unplugged the crackling sound still persists.
Has anyone ever had the same issues? Can I migrate to jack and ditch pulseaudio even as a Gnome user?

did you try increasing the latency_msec value?
Also try at least 3.6 and 3.7 in pulseaudio troubleshooting wiki page.
There's no reason why you couldn't use jack server, but I hope you understand it's not supposed to be used as general purpose audio server, but for real audio work. It's very different from, and can't replace pulseaudio in any way.

Ooo I didn't think of that, I'll try when I get home and get back to you

I tried changing the latency and doing 3.6 and 3..7 with no luck, the only thing that seems to change the quality of the audio is the:
default-fragments = 75
default-fragment-size-msec = 4in the file
/etc/pulse/daemon.conf
I don't know what to do...

Also worth mentioning when I run
pactl list sinks the
device.buffering.buffer_size = "X"
device.buffering.fragment_size = "Y" seems to change when I change the default-fragments and default-fragment-size-msec in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf. In which case how does 3.4 help?
