Hello everyone. I'v bought a Jumper EZbook 3 Pro few days ago. First thing i did was to install Arch. Most of things work well out of box (apart from few odd issues), but the thing I can't get to work is a touchpad. I don't really know how to diagnose it.
I've tried to reload i2c module but that doesn't change nothing.

I don't really know what to look for now. BTW usb wireless mouse works ok (using it now).

Thanks for reply ibart. My problem is different. Could have mention it before. Touchpad works in Windows 10 and live Ubuntu + response.sh. It just won't work in Arch Xorg.

Was it working on Ubuntu? O.o How the hell?
Offline
There is a potential patch for this now: https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/10046575/
Offline
Any luck with that issue? My laptop has the same touchpad and same problem.
Offline
Anybody still experiencing this problem? I'm having the same issue with my Chuwi LapBook Air - mouse completely dead.
I encourage possibly more people log it at https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=198627 as it hopefully the devs should be able to workaround this mousepad quirk.
Bit of a pain

Going to try the new 4.15.1 kernel but not holding out much hope - I wish I knew what I was doing enough to patch it (

For those still struggling here, on my Chuwi LapBook Air, I have managed to "force" the touchpad to start working....eventually.
My setup and method, which I have managed to repeat after reboot to get the mouse working is as below.
1. Blacklist the driver and set debug options - (May not be necessary, but when the mouse isn't working my laptop fails to suspend/resume properly, so I have it blacklisted)
echo "blacklist i2c_hid" >> /etc/modprobe.d/00_i2c_hid
echo "options i2c_hid debug=1" >> /etc/modprobe.d/00_i2c_hid
2. Set debug i2c_hid kernel boot parameter
systemd-boot
------
options ***other options blah blah blah*** i2c-hid.dyndbg=+p
3. Reboot machine
4. After login, run
sudo modprobe -vr i2c_hid
sudo modprove -vi i2c_hid
I like the verbose flag so I can see what's going on
I have to repeat step 4 multiple times, I also use
sudo libinput debug-events
so I can see when the touchpad actually kicks in.
Hope this helps somebody, it'll just have to do for now.
EDIT: Scrap that, it's dead again
EDIT EDIT: seems to work if I
sudo modprobe -vr hid_generic
sudo modprobe -vi hid_generic
before removing/adding the i2c driver

Cool I was not sure that's work on arch
When i ll have some time i'll check all news kernel to see wich of them works with this touchpad

I did not get it working on Arch Linux, how would you install a Ubuntu Kernel package on Arch? It should be possible to create a package based on the same vanilla kernel with all its patches but I don't have the time to research that option right now. What I did was just switching to Ubuntu until this issue gets sorted out on the kernel.

Sometimes the laptop hangs. Once a day or 5 times in 15 minutes.

Unfortunately, this looks like a signal integrity issue. I often get this when my system works on full throttle. I wrapped aluminum foil around the touchpad cable, and glued it on top of the traces. This partially solved the issue for me.
Why this doesn't happen in Windows is because Windows is smart enough to restart the driver if it detects errors.
