How to disable kde lock screen showing smplayer ?

Hello dear arch community,

A few updates ago KDE lock screen started showing smplayer with the name of the video for some reason, which is unclear to me.

This is really annoying as it start playback which plays audio when the computer gets out of suspend even if smplayer was paused before suspend. I have not found a way to stop it apart from unlocking the computer and pausing smplayer again.

Not only am I bothered by sound out of nowhere but I'm losing the spot where I had paused the video.

It also comes with the interesting 'feature' of smplayer not quitting anymore when you close its window or quit the program. The lock screen 'feature' seems to keep the process alive in the background for no other reason than displaying it. A nice consequence of this is that my grandma got welcomed by the last porn session of my grandpa when she went to the computer to check a recipe on the internet.

I've looked everywhere in KDE system settings and found no setting to disable this diabolical new feature.

Care to point me to an internal config file or something that would allow to get rid of this monstruosity ?

Answering myself.

According to KDE people the only way to disable this has not been implemented yet and this 'feature' has been pushed despite being incomplete and knowing that an option to disable it has a high priority, ti should be implemented in a not so distant future, wait and see.

For now, there is an obscure config option in a config file you can tweak but it has no effect.

So many responses to this come to mind, instead I'll just let the sentence itself carry the day...
