QT apps only allow print "to file", not to printer?

My QT application print dialog box sends everything to an output file and gives no option to send to printer. My printer is listed correctly in the print dialog as well. GTK apps print fine though.

What happens if you select the printer? Does it still print to file?

There is no option to select or deselect the printer. I have a screenshot but I can't figure out how to post it here.

Upload the screen shot to an image hosting service and link to it from your post.

This is what my print dialog looks like.  When I click "Print" it goes to file not to the printer.  I've printed to file in the past but there was always an option to select that.  The option is no longer available.

Your link gives me a 404.

This looks like it's supposed to, afaik the output file is simply temporary and will then be sent to your printer. Is your printer configured correctly? Can you print a testpage from CUPS webinterface?

Yes, printer works properly through cups.  It works fine in GTK apps too.

Normally there would be an option to check for the output file.  That option is no longer available.

For me, the Output File is greyed out unless the printer selected is the kind which just writes to file (e.g. CupsPDF printer or whatever). For regular printers, it is clearly shown as unavailable.
