Din anyone manage to get Steam's in home streaming to use VDPAU decoding while using a r600-based AMD GPU? In my case it either uses VAAPI (which results in a crash) or software decoding. I can't get it to decode using VDPAU. I'm using a Radeon HD 3650 (old laptop)
I tried:
-Both steam and steam-native
-Ran strace for steam native and grep for vdpau and there's a call to open /usr/lib/dri/vdpau_drv_video.so, but nothing else.
-Tried VAAPI with VDPAU as a backend, but it seems to loop after opening VAAPI, i.e. it tries to initiate VAAPI over and over, Steam falls back to software decoding (I no longer have the log).
-Tried uninstalling vaapi completly, but it goes straight to software decoding.
-vainfo and vdpauinfo run fine. Video decoding works fine for both (vaapi up to 720p).
Any tips? Is it a know bug? (couldn't find one)
Thanks!
Edit: I have all necessary native and lib32 packages installed, for both vaapi and vdpau, vdpau backend for vaapi.
