[solved] Android device not recogniced via USB

Hi guys

after switch my PC and reinstalling my system I am unable to connect my mobile phone (Nexus 5X, latest official Android version) via USB. The device is getting powered but is not recognized on the PC. I tested various cables and ports. Without luck. Also reboot does not help. The phone is not even listed in

[excelsior ~]$ lsusb

Also the phone itself is showing USB as not connected in the settings. Any idea what I might miss?
Thanks for your help.

Re: [solved] Android device not recogniced via USB

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's a hardware issue.

have you checked the logs for when you've connected the phone?

Device change from 3 to 4 is me changing from charging to file management. I don't know what happened at device 2.

Re: [solved] Android device not recogniced via USB

Thanks for the hint. I checked the system log and there is nothing inside when connecting the device. I now also checked with a different laptop. The device was working a few days ago on this one but now it's also not working on the other laptop. So you are right with the phone being the problem. Some search revealed a problem introduced with Android Oreo. See https://www.theandroidsoul.com/unable-t … oid-o-fix/ for a solution. It works now. The irritation was caused by a time overlapping when upgradeing Android and reinstalling my system.
