xrandr --listproviders resets VGA port to 1024x768

Hi,

I have detected a problem with xrandr. My setup is a Thinkpad X250 with a VGA monitor connected. The monitor is capable of Full-HD and my KDE automatically detects it and sets the resolution to 1920x1080.

When entering

xrandr --listproviders

the external screen goes black and the resolution is set to 1024x768.

The output of xrandr lists that resolution as the highest possible one.

After pulling the VGA cable out of my laptop and putting it in again Full HD is selectable again.

Can anyone reproduce this?

please post lspci -k , dmesg or journal and xorg log.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
