I'm new to archlinux and I can't seem to get my desktop environment running.
I've installed xorg, sddm, kde plasma, kde-applications with pacman but when I run:
# Systemctl enable sddm
I get
Failed to enable unit: Unit file sddm.service does not exist.
I've also tried
# Exec startkde
But got
-bash: exec: startkde: not found
And
# startplasmacompositor
But got
-bash: startplasmacompositor: command not found
I've tried reinstalling the packages with pacman but that didn't work and I honestly don't know what else to do.

How did you install Arch?
What is the output of
/usr/bin/echo $PATH
/usr/bin/uname -a
/usr/bin/pacman -Qs plasma
Please remove the superfluous "[problem]" from your topic title.

I get
/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/bin/site_perl:/usr/bin/vendor_perl:/usr/bin/core_perl
Linux *pc name* 4.13.12-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT We'd Nov 8 11:54:06 CET 2017 X86_64 GNU/Linux
But I think the problem is my internet connection. My router is pretty old and sometimes loses connection. Will pacman retry installing a file when it failed downloading it from the mirrors? Will -S only update the repositories with the missing files or download everything again? How can I force pacman to redownload all packages from a repository to prevent bugs.
I'll go to the library since they have a stable connection and try installing it there.

Read this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pacman
And you still haven't answered this:
How did you install Arch?

I installed arch with the wiki and this video https://youtu.be/hzFSTRyq6vo . I managed to install KDE with arch-chroot with my usb stick. The problem is that I don't have an internet connection on my arch installation. I've opened a new thread for that https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 0#p1750430 and I'll mark this one solved.

I am confused by both of your threads. Except the one common denominator being your refusal to think that stupid video did you any good. I just don't see any value to anyone that has been reading them. Except, perhaps that following stupid videos does not work. Thank you for that demonstration.
