[SOLVED] Cinnamon crashes when running mendeleydesktop
Hi.
When I launch mendeley desktop, I'm getting an error I haven't encountered before, which causes Cinnamon to crash (I'm getting a dialog box saying Cinnamon needs to be restarted). I've tried googling parts of the error message to no avail, so any input that might help me to get this working would be greatly appreciated.

The output indicates a crashing mendeleydesktop.x86_64 but provides no hint that or why cinnamon crashes. Consult your journal and coredumpctl.

Thanks. However, the output of journal I'm also not sure how to make sense of. Any idea if this is useful?

Still doesn't explain or at least hint why cinnamon crashes.

Okay I found the solution in the other thread. Apparently some Mozilla plugin caused Mendeley to try to use Java 10 instead of 8. I simply deleted the file /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libnpjp2-jdk10.so and it's working again.
