x86_64 and Enemy Territory

Does a native x86_64 binary for Enemy Territory exist or do I need to setup a chroot to install the x86 version? I googled, but can't seem to find anything helpful about this issue.

Also, is the source for ET available or is it totally dependant on iD fro updates?

Re: x86_64 and Enemy Territory

There is an SDK available but I don't think it's the full source and as far as I can find there is no x86_64 build anywhere. From what I found in maybe 20mins of hunting around you'll need to setup a chroot. I didn't bother, there are plenty of other good FPS that you can compile and run natively, I regularly play Nexuiz, Tremulous and my new fav is Warsow smile

WOW! Warsow looks pretty neat so I'll have to give it a try sometime.

Also, what about UT2004? Does it have native x86_64 binaries? I've got the DVD edition but haven't played it in a long time..

Yeah, UT2004 has native x86_64 binaries. They are available in the latest patches.

Not just latest patches, I have the DVD edition also and it installed 64bit executables straight off the disc. I'd love it if ID Software released x86_64 builds as without a chroot I can't run Quake 4 or Doom 3 sad

linky

Sauerbraten looks like it's coming along nicely too. Gameplay has always been fun and now they look like having the graphics to back it up. Kind of eliminates it from running on older hardware but..
