Hi guys!
I have php (7.1.12-1) and php56 (5.6.32-1) installed on my Arch. I need both of them, as we have projects at work in both Magento (doesn't support php7) and Magento 2 (best performance with php7). As long as php56 puts all its stuff at /etc/php56, /lib/php56, etc., there was no problem in having both installed, I even created a small bash script to switch between them swiftly.
But now, PHP 7.2 moves the mcrypt extension to PECL, and extra/php package conflicts with aur/php56-mcrypt. I have IgnorePkg'd all php (7.2) stuff, so no php update forces me to get rid of php56-mcrypt, but would like to keep my system up to date AND preserve php56 mcrypt support. I guess I could remove php56-mcrypt and keep mcrypt.so, keep an eye on php56 updates, IgnorePkg them, or so on... but I really wonder if there's a "legit" way to do this.
Thanks in advance.

The conflict between php 7.2 and php56-mcrypt seems to be a mistake, check https://lists.archlinux.org/pipermail/a … 44469.html

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
(A works at time B) && (time C > time B ) ≠ (A works at time C)
