Hi everyone,
I have a very weird problem with gnome 3 since last update. My favorites are shown correctly in the dock but some of the programs i open are not shown at all, while other are shown but when i close them they remain in the dock even if they are not favorites.
I've already verified that is not an extension problem (it occurs even with all extensions off).
Here's the log of my latest update before the problem appeared:

At least the latest gjs snapshot seems to have some bug.
Try dowgrading to gjs-1.50.2-1

Thank you so much after downgrading to package gjs-1.50.2-1 all strange behavior from gnome 3 stopped (i had also the applications menu failing to resume after suspend).
I will give it a spin for a day and then mark as solved the topic but for the moment it seems fixed.
Strangely enough it wasn't one of the package i had upgraded

gjs was just updated some days ago, and my guess is you just didn't notice it earlier. The issues shouldn't appear right after the gjs update. Only after you restart gnome-shell.

I think the problem was also js52, which was in your upgraded packages.
I had a similar problem: when I clicked in Activities to see the menu, Gnome got completely stucked and I couldn't access to the applications even if I saw them in the background.
The only thing I could do was logging out. I downgraded js52 and gjs and now it works again.

Should have nothing to do with js52.
Here's the bug report for gjs: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/56634

I forgot to mention i tried also to downgrade js52 and as ooo explains it has nothing to do. In fact, it didn't solve my problem.
Now i have the latest js52 but gjs downgraded and its working

Thank you. This was my first major bug in quite sometime since installing Arch about a year ago.
I have a question as long as I'm in this thread. It's nice that I was able to read the forum and find a quick answer to roll back on specific package using 'pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/gjs-1.50.2-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz/' , but what if I didn't get an immediate answer and wanted to roll back all updates from my last 'pacman -Syu' ?
I was reading this and it looked like I'd have to edit /etc/pacman.conf ?
My '/var/log/pacman.log' has my last -Syu update on 2017/12/06. My '/etc/pacman.conf' currently looks like this...
[core]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
[extra]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
#[community-testing]
#Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
[community]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
Would I have to change it to look like this?
[core]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
SigLevel = PackageRequired
Server=https://archive.archlinux.org/repos/2017/12/06/$repo/os/$arch
[extra]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
SigLevel = PackageRequired
Server=https://archive.archlinux.org/repos/2017/12/06/$repo/os/$arch
#[community-testing]
#Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
[community]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
SigLevel = PackageRequired
Server=https://archive.archlinux.org/repos/2017/12/06/$repo/os/$arch
Then run 'pacman -Syyuu' ?

No. You need to either remove the Include lines from the edited pacman.conf you just posted, or alternatively leave your pacman.conf as it was and put the archive server line as your /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist.
This is clearly stated on the page you linked to.

Ah okay. I need some clarification on if I should entirely replace what was included, or be adding to it.
Thank you.

Glad I found this thread. Also have a bug where dragging app icons to rearrange them on the dock causes GNOME to completely lockup requiring a hard reboot. Downgrading gjs 1.50.2+8+gb65c785-1 -> 1.50.2-1 fixes all my recent drag and drop problems.
