systemd 235.38-3 /var/log/journal permission change

I noticed that the systemd 235.38-3 package currently in testing does away with the chown and chmod for /var/log/journal;

do not change permission for /var/log/journal, this fails with dynamic gids. Let systemd-sysusers handles this for us instead.

I didn't see anything about this come by on the mailing list, hence this post.

FWIW; while I do understand the effect of said bit, it's not clear to me what the effect of this change is as a whole and how one should deal with this on an already existing system.
I'm not that familiar with the permission system i.c.w. systemd so pardon me if the following seems dumb or obvious to you wink

Based on the difference between the package and the existing system, what would be the appropriate response to this change?
- Clear the setgit bit manually (recursively?)?
- Just ignore pacman's permission warning when you install the update?
- Trigger some systemd thing to let it handle this?

I do not believe there  there is actually any resultant change on an installed system.
See /usr/lib/tmpfiles.d/systemd.conf tmpfiles.d fixed the permissions if they were not correct based on the names not ids removing the lines from the PKGBUILD was just removing lines that served no purpose.

Ah I see, ty.

Conclusion; one has to do nothing at all and can just ignore the warning pacman will throw (this would be regarding 2755 filesystem vs 755 package) as systemd handles it already anyway.
