Hi guys. I'm having problems with arch on my laptop. The last time I installed arch on this laptop (+7 months) it work right out of the box. But now, the fn keys have a delay response. Example when I press on XF86MonBrightnessDown, works ok, if I do it again, it has some delay, if I press it again, it has more delay. All fn keys I tried except Volume change keys all do the same thing.
I tried using Ubuntu 15 live cd, and it does not have this problem, the fn keys works fine. I also try Solus Project live cd, and they have delay as Arch has. Im suspecting it maybe the kernel. (Ubuntu kernel version is 3.19, Arch and Solus is 4.1.
Sorry for my english.
Thanks.

Intel graphics?
How many entries exist under /sys/class/backlight? One for intel, one for acpi?

Hey. Thanks for the quick reply. I have intel graphics and there is only one entry under /sys/class/backlight, just intel_backlight.
Thanks.

Thats too bad. Had there been two, I'd have told you to add a kernel command line option that limited it to the intel_backlight

Edit: If I exec xbacklight -inc or -dec it works fine. Just delay when I used fn keys.

Have you tried the LTS kernel?

Hey I actually had the same issue and only one entry in /sys/class/backlight etc.
It took me a while to figure out but it was caused by "virtualbox-guest-dkms". After I removed it everything went back to normal
Maybe this helps somebody.

Thanks for sharing, however it is unclear whether that was really involved in the OPs issue and whether your solution really is relevant to the problem 2 years later.
Please don't necro bump.
Closing.
