i8042.nomux on kernel26ck & kernel26beyond

A while back I had to pass i8042.nomux to the kernel at boot time in order to have my touchpad working properly. This issue was later taken care of by the kernel devs and there was no need to pass the command anymore.

However, I recently sent my laptop in for reparation. They changed the motherboard and apparently something about the touchpad changed as well. Once again it seems like I have to pass i8042.nomux to the kernel to get it working properly. I can do this on my custom built kernel but not with the official kernel26ck & kernel26beyond. I get a message saying that it's an invalid kernel parameter and then the kernel panics :? Weird...

Re: i8042.nomux on kernel26ck & kernel26beyond

Here's some more exact information.

When I boot with i8042.nomux, I get this

Loading Initramfs
export: 25: i8042.nomux: bad variable name
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!

With my custom built kernels things work just fine. I don't know why this is.
