Hi first post and I want to make this simple as often people read too much into what I am asking.
Is anyone out there running or know someone who is running Arch with Intel Core i7-4790 CPU (or similar) with Z97 Chipset?
If yes, are there any boot errors?
Thanks
Robert....

Odd request with no context. I have a Z97/i-4790K with no boot errors except for some ACPI bs. You need ask a more helpful question.

Thank you so much you have answered the question. Strange I posted this on Redit or so I thought. I am running on an Asus Z87 mobo and generally ignoring these ACPI errors. But it is now effecting performance. I cannot run the latest Kernel without boot errors but the LTS Kernel is OK, still get the ACPI errors. Some other OS like Solus. Manjaro and Antergos won’t boot at all. It started over a year ago but like you I stuck to it. As there is no BIOS upgrade I was wondering if a later chipset like the Z97 would help, but I am aware that that update was to accommodate the Gen 5 CPU.
I might look at a AMD FX. Would like Ryzen but stretching the pocket.
One again thank you for answering my question.

You really should post the errors you are getting before going to measures to replace everything

So rather than opening a support thread - where in the first post you'd be expected to describe the problem you are having and the steps you've taken so far - you instead just asked a yes or no question. You even elaborated that you don't want us to read into it further (a really silly thing to say to a hacker community).
So you have you answer: Yes, someone else is using similar hardware. Please mark this thread as [SOLVED].
I'm not sure how this is a K&H thread, at best "Try This". K & H is for "Problems and questions concerning kernel and hardware support" not for surveys to get at obviously true existentially quantified propositions: "Is there at least one person who uses this hardware." I think anyone could have confidently answered that affirmatively prior to GraySky even posting that he was such a person.

The ACPI "error" messages have been discussed vastly and over and over and over and over and over AND: over! again on this board and are the most unlikely the cause of "performance" issues (whatever that may be in particular)
So if you desire help, you got to elaborate on your actual issues at hand.
