Spacebar not Working in Some Programs.

Howdy, just wondering if someone can point me in the right direction.

I run arch linux on my lenovo laptop with i3 as my wm. I have 2 monitors at home that I plug my laptop into along with an external keyboard. I haven't plugged into the monitors for about a month, but now when I do the spacebar on the external keyboard only works in some programs. The laptop spacebar works in all programs, if monitors are plugged into it or not.

Spacebar does not work in URXVT, termite, firefox, chromium, but does work in qutebrowser and mnemosyne.

The spacebar was working fine before a month ago, so not sure what is up now! Wish I had another external keyboard to test out, but I don't. So wondering if anybody got an idea what may be up?

Re: Spacebar not Working in Some Programs.

Probably libinput? version 1.9 introduced a series of issue with some trackpads and weird behaviours with external input devices.

pacman -Q libinput

Don't know if newer versions fixed all of the issues because I never experienced any of them.

Re: Spacebar not Working in Some Programs.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm on the newest version right now

[darren@Arch-W540] ~
❯ pacman -Q libinput
libinput 1.9.4-1

`

May have to live with not using an external keyboard for now, or try a different keyboard and see if that works (or not).

Re: Spacebar not Working in Some Programs.

You could use xf86-input-evdev in the meantime.
