Patching FVWM

So I was planning to get fvwm-devel from unstable, and then apply the patches found here: http://abdn.ac.uk/~u15dm4/fvwm/. I guess I have 2 questions.

1) What directory do I go to in order to apply the patch. I've looked in /usr/share/fvwm, but I don't think the actual program is in there.

1.5) How can I determine what symbolic links point to when I'm in the command line?

2) Will patching fvwm-devel in this way allow me to take advantage of the fancy features from configs that I download from the fvwm boards?

Re: Patching FVWM

You must apply these patches to the source and rebuild FVWM for them to work. The best way would be to get the FVWM stuff from ABS and add the patch(es) to the PKGBUILD, rebuild using makepkg, and reinstall the new package using pacman. This would be the 'correct' way to make a new Arch Linux package with this set of patches applied.
