Just wanted to ask about the current status of the Arch64 repo server move/update. I can hardly wait to update from the offical Arch Linux server for the first time...

This list always shows the answer: http://pansy.at/arch64_todo.html
I'm doing my very best but it will take some time to get in sync with arch32 again. I'm right now the only active arch64 packager.

nice list!

Is there anything we as Arch64 users can do to help with the process?

Andy, I didn't realise you were the only packager. That doesn't sound like a very sound base for a distibution.
Can you please tell us what is involved in maintaining Arch64?

Lots of compiling, basically keeping the repo in sync with updates to the i686 repo, and in the process making any needed changes to the packages to get them work with the 64-bit stuff.
The suggestion box only accepts patches.

Is it me, or does package building on x86_64 take FOREVER! It seems like packages take much longer to build when compared to i686 packages. Am I crazy or is this expected?

I've got these if anyone is interested. Not sure if I can/how to upload.
aspell 0.60.4-2 (gcc4.1 patch from gentoo)
aspell-en 6.0-1
gnome-vfs 2.14.2-1
Edit: These are apparently already mainstream.

libbonobo 2.14.0-1
libbonoboui 2.14.0-1
orbit2 2.14.0-1

I am also willing to do the odd compile to assist with this process. Can we use the files from abs and just makepkg or makeworld? What procedure have you been using, AndyRTR?
