[SOLVED] Wacom tablet not working with some applications

Hello, i recently bought the "One by Wacom" tablet, which is their most basic version of a tablet.

simplyfied problem:
My wacom tablet simply doesn't work with any program other than the system menus and the terminal.

When i first plugged it in, it had no problem by being discovered by the system and working by navigating the menus of the system and the terminal. But when i tried to use it with gimp, inkscape or anything else it simply doesn't work.

I've tried intalling input-wacom-dkms, xf86-input-wacom, and some other things, but all of that are just for the system to identify the tablet and make it work, which wasn't my problem. I have also search in this forum and on google and found nothing that helped

What is "any program" and what is  "system menus and the terminal"?
Are you using GNOME?
On wayland, maybe?

If this is the case, while gnome supports wacom tablets just fine on wayland, there's no tablet support on Xwayland yet. For that reason wacom tablents don't work with non-native-wayland applications, e.g. everything that still uses gtk2 like gimp and inkscape.

Tablet supprt should be included in Xwayland 1.20 release.
Until then use X, or you could try these patches from fedora.

Re: [SOLVED] Wacom tablet not working with some applications

Well, that solved for me. Even with the wiki explanation i had some problem finding the GDM "menu" buttom to change to GNOME on Xorg because i have vision problems and my glasses are broken. But thank you very much, that has helped me.

Solution for me:
* Log out of the session;
* Search very carefully for a menu buttom, which is located on the left side of the "Unlock" buttom;
* Select GNOME on Xorg;
* Log back in.

and everything is in the way that i wanted.

You might want to read up https://help.gnome.org/users/gnome-help … 1y.html.en ("low vision") section.
