I try to install to my (old) laptop. After a week and a lot of retries to install it looks like I did something wrong with the boorloader (systemd-boot) configuration. I do not understand it very good.
Here are my config files:
/boot/loader/loader.conf
default arch
timeout 4
editor 0/boot/loader/entries/arch.conf
title Arch Linux
efi /vmlinuz-linux
initrd /intel-ucode.img
initrd /initramfs-linux.img
options root=PARTUUID=de8df90a-1a0a-4083-b958-8746323245cd rwI would like to show the complete kernel panic. I don't know other than to type everything over from the screen. Suggestions anyone?
I have not written the kernel panic down yet so I will go and post the first few lines it in 15 minutes. Take out the trash first. ![]()

First line error:
[0.146910] ACPI Error: [\_PR_.CPU0._PPC] Namespace loop failure, AE_NOT_FOUND (20170728/psargs-364)Offline
so try acpi=off

Don't try acpi=off if it isn't clear that that's the issue (a few ACPI errors are completely normal) something I notice is that you have
efi /vmlinuz-linuxwhile it should be
linux /vmlinuz-linuxor to be more correct, you'd have to prefix the initrd value with options if you intend to use the efi prefix.

I did try it in loader.conf and arch.conf. It did not change the outcomeg
I think you mean somewhere else? Where?

That's 64bit capable, and the installation worked? you will likely have to post more of that panic I'm afraid.

The processor in that system should be okay. It is a 64 bit Celeron. Not the most impressive chip ever, but low power, and x64.

Is there a log file I can copy/upload? I will try to search the partitions. on any .log file.

The first thing after the ACPI is:
kernel panic-not syncing: VFS: unable to mount root fs on unknown block(0,0)
Googling gave me a lot of GRUB errors... strange. More later on.

As V1del has already pointed out, your bootloader config isn't correct. Read the systemd-boot wiki page.

Is that partuuid correct? What's the output of
lsblk -f(can be from a live system)

... it should be
linux /vmlinuz-linux
That was alle. The ACPI Errors are still there. But I get a prompt and no kernel panic. B-)
On this machine there is no need for Windows. So no efi optioneel is needed here.

I have read it over and over and have been trying to change those conf files and did more than 5 complete reinstalls today. And got a lot beter at it. B-) Cheese.
