Hello, I just installed arch yesterday for the first time on my hybrid laptop. I tried to install bumblebee following the Arch Wiki tutorial, but it did not work well.
When I test the usage with optirun glxgears, I got it no output and it just stops when ^C.

When did you last update? There have recently been some issues due to a wrong configuration in the package. Make sure you run at least nvidia 387.34-18 and nvidia-utils 387.34-5 .
If that doesn't help already post

I updated yesterday when I installed my DE and some things. Then when i issued this problem I tried to pacman -Syu again. Nothing new.

Well I am not sure what happened but I reinstalled all the packages from the Arch Wiki tutorial and turn on bbswitch with sudo tee /proc/acpi/bbswitch <<< ON and now both optirun and primusrun are working. I also changed from Gnome 3 to KDE. Closed.

GNOME happened, they have some nonfunctional (if using proprietary drivers, it should work with nouveau) integration with Optimus systems which prevents bumblebee/bbswitch from properly handling the device. I'm unsure if there's an option somewhere to turn GNOME's attempts off.
