was checking out the rss feeds link available on the forum and while it is very customizable why isnt there any automatic feeds like you get on other forums where you get like in firefox the icon in the address bar to subscribe to this feed or like on linuxquestions.org, where you can get a daily email with posts that have gotten 0 replies? seems a lot easier (to me anyways)

Well, dude, you feel free to sit yoursef down and carefully create those custom feeds using the facility provided and I will _happily_ sticky a thread containing them or even add the links to the forum design itself. I can't say fairer than that
Thanks for volunteering

you're funny dibble
id be glad to, but i guess what i was looking for was like the ones on the archlinux.org main page for current news and packages
http://archlinux.org/rdf_news.php and http://archlinux.org/rdf_feed.php
when you create a feed, its more like this
http://bbs.archlinux.org/topics_anywhere.php?mode=show&out=rss2.0&f=uNyw4LDE3LDE4LDIyLDIzLDMwLDMxLDMyLDM1LDQ0&n=10&sfn=y&r=y&sr=y&b=non&lpb=0&lpd=0
how do you make the kinds of feeds that are on the main page or who made them? maybe they can make some for the forums. not to mention, how come there are feed links on the main page and not in the forums?

I'm sure someone could do but how would you choose which parts of the forum to syndicate? How many people want to see exactly the same threads syndicated? Very few I think. The current mechanism allows people to get an RSS feed of exactly what they want, which I think is ideal. I'm not against adding some popular ones to the forum template (in a drop down maybe) but the demand has never been there.
I'm also certain that some php guru could _quite_ easily create a few custom feeds based on topic_anywhere with easier to remember urls...or we could cheat and filter them through tinyurl like this
Copying them to my cellphone is preferable that way fo' shizzle!
*ahem*

well i agree not everyone wants to read about the same things. it was just wishful thinking
