Hello all,
Sometimes if I use pacman to upgrade a large amount of data, it stalls trying to download certain package. I had to Ctl-C it and start the command again. Luckily pacman knows where it stopped and resumes the transmission. It is still very annoying though.
Anyone had this problem before?

I started seeing that with pacman after the big upgrade. Then I started to notice it was happening with Firefox. By any chance, are you using KDE? Did you upgrade the KDE-networking package that just came out? It seems that the problem may be KDE related and upgrading seems to have solved the problem.

No. Using xfce only here. It is not specific package though. I am upgrading 322M packages and it happend 3 times already.

Have you tried adjusting your mirrors in /etc/pacman.d/* ?

The 2.6.17 kernel, which was part of the recent huge update, have issues with TCP window scaling, which may cause "odd" network problems. See if it helps with
echo 0 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_window_scaling

Penguin: You mean change the order of them? I'll try.
Bebo: I don't think it is to do with the kernel because I had this problem with older version of kernel as well. But thanks anyway.
