It's time again: Plasma 5.12 beta is available for testing in the [kde-unstable] repo. See https://www.kde.org/announcements/plasma-5.11.95.php for the release notes.
As usual, you need to have [testing] enabled. Report packaging issues to bugs.archlinux.org with the [kde-unstable] tag, and upstream issues to bugs.kde.org.
Happy testing!

Digital clock in tray is too small for some reason.

That is intentional

It's same size as tray icons, but now kickoff icon looks too big. Clock was balancing it out.
Edit.
Beyond that everything looks stable. I had baloo hogging CPU for some reason, it's now limited to files only since I'm not using it much.
Proper cursor size is not detected on Wayland still. 1600x900@14.1 inches. Anyway, Wayland needs more things before I can consider using it for more than just few times every few months to see how it runs.
There have been some talking about startup times being shorter, I'm not seeing any improvements, maybe because of SSD.

Can you try starting
startplasmacompositor
like this, instead:
QT_WAYLAND_FORCE_DPI=96 startplasmacompositor
Are there any noticeable differences?

This is because Xwayland still seems necessary for startup, for some reason. I've tried starting kwin_wayland without the xwayland option, but kwin_wayland just soft-locks for me. Might be a possible bug.

Restoring Kmail when it is hidden in systray, crashes the compositor ; but I don't think that's Arch's packaging's fault, most likely a Kwin upstream bug.
Overall it's pretty stable ; thanks for patching qt5wayland too !

LibreOffice and Virt-Manager seem to work naively on Wayland. But both windows don't have a window frame anymore. Anybody else with the same issue or is this specific to my setup?

You meant it as env variable, right? Anyway I still get size 48 cursor, it doesn't occur in non Qt programs, for example firefox and spotify. Also, it's properly sized on decorations.
I can force size through systemsettings but that's not the point.
Has anyone noticed that cursor flickers when it moves from panel to desktop area? It also flickers while passing through window decoration and window border.

No, but I noticed that opening a context menu on the desktop makes weird colors appear on the Plasma panel below. Really strange.
