Installing A Driver For My TV TUNER

My output for lsusb for the device is
ID 1b71:0042 Fushicai

I need a workout somehow for this device. I am not dual booting right now. The actual device is Frontech JIL-0620

I've checked the usbtv methods but all of them are old and not working with the current kernels.

Please help me somehow to detect the device. I need this to connect my DSLR to stream from OBS.

Re: Installing A Driver For My TV TUNER

Do you know how to use a TV card when it is recognized? If the card is not recognized, see the output of dmesg while you plug the card. Some cards require non-redistributable firmware that can be extracted from the Windows drivers. When the card is recognized, you can use w_scan (from the AUR) to scan the available frequencies; this stool can generate a playlist that can then be used by a media player like vlc or mplayer.

Re: Installing A Driver For My TV TUNER

Plug the card and watch dmesg. If a firmware is needed; this should be mentioned. After that the trick is to Google to missing file to see how to obtain it. Usually you need a very specific version of the driver with some scripts to extract the firmware; not just the Windows driver that came with your card.

Anyway watching what is output in dmesg will tell you if the kernel see the card and mention specific problem. This is the first thing to do. You should post this output if you have still problems.

Try using Kaffeine.  It works with digital TV tuners.

I may have to CONSOLE you about your usage of ridiculously easy graphical interfaces...
