[Solved] Security

I have just back to arch linux and finally made an install without problems. On other OS, I use to believe that people who created the software used tools to get some security. But with arch linux it's like I have exactly what I installed. I don't have a good knowledge about security and AFAIK I didn't install anything to improve security.
So my question is: how can I know am I safe against hackers?

ps: I still didn't install any AUR pkg, but probably will use it at least for Dropbox.
