[Solved] Number of virtual desktops is reset to 1 after every reboot

Hi,

after every reboot I have only 1 virtual desktop instead of 4. I have to set it back to 4 manually, but after a new reboot, it is only 1 again. Does someone know a solution to this problem or the file where the number of virtual desktops is saved (to delete it)?

Sounds like a permissions problem to me. Check the ownership and permissions on your ~/.config folder. The number of desktops is set in ~/.config/kwinrc, under the [Desktops] heading.

Mobo: MSI MAG X570S TORPEDO MAX // Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X @4.9GHz // GFX: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT // RAM: 32GB (4x 8GB) Corsair DDR4 (@ 3000MHz) // Storage: 1x 3TB HDD, 6x 1TB SSD, 2x 120GB SSD, 1x 275GB M2 SSD

Making lemonade from lemons since 2015.

Thank you for your help. The problem is now solved. I found out, that my file system was broken, because I found out, that I had no kwinrc file in ~/.config and I could not create it. It told me, that the file exists. After a filesystem check, everything is fine.
