So yeah, just that. Is there a way to hide or completely remove the "Session:" message that appears at the bottom of the screen indicating the desktop session on SLiM? I only use gnome so I don't find it usefull and it's starting to be annoying

You should stop using SLiM, as it was abandoned several years ago. The last release was in 2013. (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Slim)
But to answer your question, there is a configuration option "session_msg" according to the wiki page. (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sl … im_Options)
Maybe try setting that to an empty value?

Already tried that, but didn't worked. I had not noticed that SLiM was abandoned, I'll try something else then. I loved the simplicity of SLiM, I guess I'll find that in other DM.
