How can I install PlayOnLinux/Wine

I have been trying to install PlayOnLinux, however I get the following error:

resolving dependencies...
warning: cannot resolve "wine", a dependency of "playonlinux"
:: There are 2 providers available for netcat:
:: Repository extra
   1) gnu-netcat
:: Repository community
   2) openbsd-netcat

Enter a number (default=1):
:: The following package cannot be upgraded due to unresolvable dependencies:
      playonlinux

:: Do you want to skip the above package for this upgrade? [y/N]
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: playonlinux: requires wine

I see that Wine is in the Multilib repository (https://www.archlinux.org/packages/mult … 6_64/wine/) so I tried to get it working by enabling it as such https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Multilib However my system still told me that Wine cannot be found as well as that repository also not existing.

Has this something to do with the 32-bit discontinuation? If so, it is strange to still list these things on the website but yet have it fail on the actual system. Is there any way I can still install Wine through the official Arch repository? I have a fully up-to-date installation.

Re: How can I install PlayOnLinux/Wine

Post your pacman.conf, I'm guessing you either haven't enabled the [multilib] repo properly or you haven't upgraded yet since enabling it, both these points are covered in the wiki.

No, it didn't "fix" anything. It just shifted the brokeness one space to the right. - jasonwryan

Yes, this is the result of forgetting to have my coffee in the morning. I forgot to remove the '#' from the [multilib] line, just the "Include" one after it. Whoops!

Thank you!
