Hello Archers,
I have had recurring wifi problems lately. It did work since years.
- linux-4.15.1-2: no more wifi
- linux-4.15.2-2: wifi came back
- linux-4.15.3-1: no more wifi (today)
My box is a MSI-1758 laptop with a Realtek chip. Never had the slightest issue whatsoever. Below some data, more available on request.
Thank you in advance for any clue
Regards,
Daniel

Maybe it's the issue in https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=234122.

From https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel … Log-4.15.3 / https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/ke … ?h=v4.15.3
try reverting https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/ke … da702c6ce3
@danielausparis that issue was b43 specific and fixed in 4.15.2-2 https://git.archlinux.org/svntogit/pack … 4f0d6cd4e5
Edit:
spelling specific not speciffic

The case becomes more mysterious: my wifi came alive after about 10 minutes. This is repeatable, after boot no wifi and after a long delay it works. Very strange.

Look into your journal and dmesg?
How do you expect wifi to "come alive"? Automagically (some network manager) or does manual connection fail?
Offline
I use connman.
Apparently the latest connman this morning takes care of the issue, however i'm still doubting about the root cause. Let's make is [solved] for now. Many thanks to all.

You have to mark it as solved yourself. Edit the first post and prepend [SOLVED] to the title.

With latest kernel 4.15.3-2 (this morning) the wifi never, never comes up. I thought it was maybe connman related but the hypothesis of relation to kernel versions seems increasingly solid.
All data stays as in the first post, in particular dmesg.
Edit : changed thread title

Would suggest you bisect between 4.15.1 and 4.15.2 or my suggestion from post #3. Arch does not fix upstream issues and this issue does not appear to be experienced by anyone else.
So it seems likely you are going to have to determine the cause yourself and take it upstream.

Also disable/stop connman and try a manual connection: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Wi … nual_setup
Your dmesg/journal might still hold further information on why/where it fails.
