[Unsolvable] SMPlayer: no dvd menu

hi,
when i run a DVD Video from smplayer (Open->Disc->DVD from drive) it starts directly to movie, it doesn't show menu, why?

on smplayer site it says:

Q. DVD menus, where are they?

Go to the Drive section in preferences and check the option "Enable DVD menus (Experimental)" and set your DVD drive.

but in drive section i have no "Enable DVD menus" option:
smplater.png

$ pacman -Q|grep smplayer
smplayer 18.2.0-1.0

Be aware that this likely depends on the backend as well, afaik mpv doesn't support DVD menus at all.

Re: [Unsolvable] SMPlayer: no dvd menu

And just for fun  I looked at the changelogs, seems like the checkbox is all that's left of it https://www.smplayer.info/en/changes - the 17.12 release changelog

Re: [Unsolvable] SMPlayer: no dvd menu

Just looked, this works

mplayer dvdnav://

Did not know that mpv removed menus, they used to work.
This plays the first title

mpv dvdnav://

This now drops after the legal disclaimer

mpv dvdread://

This starts the first title

mpv dvd://
mpv dvd://menu
[dvdnav] DVD menu support has been removed.
Failed to open dvd://menu.

Ok, that doesn't seem like a really good move. Anyway mplayer works.

If you want to look for titles while using mpv there is always lsdvd

 lsdvd /dev/sr0
Disc Title: WESTERNS_VOL2
Title: 01, Length: 00:00:25.000 Chapters: 01, Cells: 01, Audio streams: 01, Subpictures: 00
Title: 02, Length: 00:25:20.300 Chapters: 03, Cells: 03, Audio streams: 01, Subpictures: 01
Title: 03, Length: 00:21:30.266 Chapters: 03, Cells: 03, Audio streams: 01, Subpictures: 01
Title: 04, Length: 00:25:31.400 Chapters: 03, Cells: 03, Audio streams: 01, Subpictures: 01

yes, it works, thanks! but when i click with mouse on a title it doesn't work:

No bind found for key 'MOUSE_BTN0-MOUSE_BTN0_DBL'.
$ cat ~/.mplayer/input.conf
c osd_show_property_text "bitrate:

EDIT:
"mplayer dvdnav://" doesn't work on all DVD Video.

Re: [Unsolvable] SMPlayer: no dvd menu

I believe vlc (and maybe xine) has currently the best support for dvd menus.
I guess with online streaming playing bd/dvd on the pc is not getting that much interest from developers anymore.
