Installing R libraries on Arch Linux

Hi

I am getting this error when i try to install libraries 'XML' and 'httr' at R from terminal.Libraries are downloading but not being installed.

** libs sh: make: command not found ERROR: compilation failed for package ‘XML’ * removing ‘/home/alp/R/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-library/3.4/XML’ * restoring previous ‘/home/alp/R/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-library/3.4/XML’

The downloaded source packages are in ‘/tmp/RtmpWIrmJ0/downloaded_packages’ Warning message: In install.packages("XML") : installation of package ‘XML’ had non-zero exit status

You'll likely be best just installing the base-devel group if you intend to build any software at all, R packages or otherwise.

Also note that we expect members to follow up on their own threads.  You have several threads that you've opened and received what look to be quality answers, but each of them was just abandonned.  If you are satisfied with the answers you recieved, please mark those threads as [SOLVED].
