Hello,
I've been dealing with a minor issue for a few months now and I'm not sure what's causing it. I have a vertical dual-monitor setup, and every time I open GNOME Files or Nautilus (same program), the program opens in between the two monitors, causing the bezels to obstruct the window and forcing me to move it. It happens on both monitors, no matter where I close the window and then re-open it. An example is below. Apologies for the huge image, but you get the idea. I've looked all over the internet for fixes and I cannot find one, so I thought I would ask some people directly. Does anyone know of a solution to this problem? If you need to know, I'm on the latest version of gnome-shell and am using the amdgpu open-source driver, the latest version available in the arch repos.

The same problem was happening to me when I used a dual screen setup (first monitor VGA, second monitor on HDMI) on an Nvidia card with proprietary drivers.
I don't use this setup anymore, but it would be interesting to know how to tell Nautilus where to open its window on starting.

I have the same problem with Nautilus using Nvidia (proprietary drivers) but also with Gnome System Monitor using Intel (strange)
