hi, it looks like packages have been updated where cairo will conflict with cairo-devel. This seems to break upgrading on my system.

checking package integrity... done.
error: this will break the following dependencies:
cairo-devel: is required by libsvg-cairo
cairo-devel: is required by gstreamer0.10-cairo
cairo-devel: is required by xfce4-session-svn
Has anyone gotten this/knows how to resolve it?

I think I had the same issue with nicotine, try removing cairo-devel and everything that depends on it, then pull in everything you want again, xfce4-svn, etc... and cairo. Hopefully those packages should be happy with cairo too...

There are _alot_ of packages that depend on cairo and many more that depend on that, so pretty soon half of your system is gone if I just keep removing packages. Any other suggestions?

You probably only need to remove cairo-devel, libsvg-cairo, gstreamer0.10-cairo, and xfce4-session-svn per your pacman output. After that grab cairo, and if the others (libsvg-cairo, gstreamer0.10-cairo, and xfce4-session-svn) work with cairo as well as cairo-devel, then grab them too and you're set.

No the problem is that those packages are depend upon by many other packages, so you get a cascading effect when you try to remove those.

You can remove any package without removing packages that depend on it with pacman -Rd.
I am a gated community.

If you don't use glitz output, you won't need cairo-devel, you can use cairo 1.2.0 from current then.

I did this, were a lot of packages indeed, I'm just reinstalling whatever I need now. Isn't too much work provided you have a decent bandwith.
