replacing cairo-devel with cairo

Hi.
I was playing with XGL a few months back and installed cairo-devel. Now when I try to pacman -Syu, cairo conflicts with cairo-devel and I can't complete the update:

ste@xenu ~> sudo pacman -S cairo
:: cairo conflicts with cairo-devel. Remove cairo-devel? [Y/n] y

Remove:  cairo-devel

Targets: cairo-1.2.0-1

Total Package Size:   0.4 MB

Proceed with upgrade? [Y/n] y

checking package integrity... done.
error: this will break the following dependencies:
  cairo-devel: is required by libsvg-cairo
  cairo-devel: is required by libgdiplus
  cairo-devel: is required by pango

I've tried -f to force it but still no joy. Is there an easy way to switch back to the standard release? I have no interest in XGL now.
