On my work PC (i3-6100, MSI-B150 PC MATE) kexec suddenly stopped working properly. I do
/usr/bin/kexec -l /boot/vmlinuz-linux --initrd=/boot/initramfs-linux.img --reuse-cmdline
systemctl kexec
but it's causing full system reboot (with BIOS logo).
This worked before, and works now on my home PC.
How can I dig into this problem?

If you have not already check the issue is still present on 4.15.7. If so find the last kernel it did work on and the first kernel it did not work on.
If it stopped working on a stable release update check the release notes for possible candidates. If there are possible candidates revert those see if it resolves the issue.
If that fails bisect between the known good and bad releases.

old linux 4.14.15-1 (from arch archive) and current linux-lts 4.14.23-1 Working fine
starting from 4.15.1-2 (oldest from 4.15 i found in archive) is NOT working

Would suggest bisecting between 4.14 and 4.15 to locate the bad commit see.
