West Point Bridge Designer 2013 PKGBUILD help

I'd like to try to build a PKGBUILD for West Point Bridge Designer 2013. Has anyone got this working in Linux? Without WINE?
It's a Java app that they distribute from sourceforge as a Windows exe or a Mac disk image. The source files are there, but they include a full JRE which I don't want ;-)
I'm going to mess around with it, but I'd appreciate any pointers or suggestions. I'd like to get it running as a Java app instead of just using WINE though (if that's possible).

Thanks

The Sourceforge page is at http://sourceforge.net/projects/wpbdc/ if anyone's interested.

Re: West Point Bridge Designer 2013 PKGBUILD help

Well, as you mentioned, there is a git repo of the source, so it may be possible for you to build it and run it without WINE. Why not try your hand at making a PKGBUILD, and when you get stuck we can all offer suggestions to fix it up.

All the best,

Re: West Point Bridge Designer 2013 PKGBUILD help

I'd start by building it manually and if that works, then try it again from a PKGBUILD.

Is it possible to only clone a part of the git repo? I don't want the jre along with everything else.

I don't think so. But you don't have to keep that source after you build it.

P.S., If they kept the jre and nojre versions in separate branches, then yes, you could do this, but it's all in one, it seems.

If you knew it was old, you shouldn't have necrobumped it: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … bumping.22
