hp elitebook 8440p, black screen after suspend

Hi. I'm just beginning to use&study linux.
I have black screen after suspend. System still operate, so I can use hotkeys to close bspwm, and then screen works normally and i can logon again. If I activate suspension from command line before startx there is no way to wake the screen up.
My video driver is nouveau.
I know there are lot of similiar issues over the internet, but I totally mess in all these recomendations. From where shouldI start to investigate it?

From what I gather it's a problem with 8440p.  I have same issue.  Ctrl +Alt+backspace gives a login screen.

I noticed i had nouveau drivers.  I installed nvidia-installer and ran it.  And behold this seems to work with suspend and even setting lid closed to suspend.

That is terrible advice leonax.

If you wish to install the proprietry nvidia drivers then you should do so with pacman, not by downloading from the nvidia website.

No, it didn't "fix" anything. It just shifted the brokeness one space to the right. - jasonwryan

Thanks, leonax, but i've installed nouveau becouse there was issue with OpenGL applications & recommended nvidia-340xx package from pacman ("X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)").
Did you run into some problems with OpenGL?

Re: hp elitebook 8440p, black screen after suspend

telemak no problems here but I don't run games and I am certainly no expert.  Here's what I got and to test opengl I used glxgears.  As you may be aware I am on antergos.  I have also updated the kernel and so far I have not had any  bother.  The machine is doing great since I went over to nvidia.

uname -r
