Workaround for the 60 Hz/Cycle hum on old audio amp connected

This might be obvious but it took me a while to find so, here's the solution anyway.

I recently changed my motherboard to one with ALC892 audio controller, after which my audio amp (from '79 or '80, connected with a 3.5mm cable) started producing the 60 cycle hum whenever audio was idle for a while. This didn't happen with the ALC888S/ALC885 controller on the previous motherboard.

The workaround is to disable PulseAudio's module-suspend-on-idle module, which, I guess, then keeps some sort of audio workload going on from the moment the system is up. Doesn't seem to affect CPU much.

To disable it, comment its line out in /etc/pulse/default.pa and reboot.

Can't say yet if this causes other problems.

Thank you for sharing. Ideally, this sort of information should be documented on the wiki, where it can be maintained (although I suspect this is a rather niche subject, so maintainers may be few and far between). If you're feeling up to it, please create a new page under your namespace and document this there.
