Even if this can solve it, it'll look awful.
Edit: Sorry for the double post, didn't notice the previous one had been posted

Re: UI randomly crashes

You say that as if it's a problem.  It sounds to me like the compositor was properly suspended and this avoided the black screen.  So this greatly narrows down the problem: X is still running just fine, there's just a problem with the compositor or graphics driver.  Suspending the compositor is not a magic fix, it's a diagnostic step.

Re: UI randomly crashes

The idea was to try the impact on the problem...

@Trilby, I'm not sure he did that when the screen turned "randomly" black

I did not. My actual session is going perfectly fine. that's why i didn't see the point in doing that, when I get a black screen again I'll try that
Usually it happens roughly 5-10 minutes after login

Re: UI randomly crashes

I tried suspending the compositor when i had a black screen, but nothing happened.
Besides, it seems it only crashes when I use firefox. I'll try with chromium to see if it is firefox which is causing the issue

Edit: Okay nevermind, i got a black screen right after posting this. But it seems it always occurs when a web browser is opened

Re: UI randomly crashes

Okay, ehm, I presume this is the session which stops working, because now, when it happens, I no longer have a black screen but SDDM just suddenly pops on the screen and I'm forced to restart a session.

And I've noticed it happens only when firefox is opened, and it doesn't seem to occur with chromium

With nouveau drivers? I actually only have intel drivers, but iirc it did the same with nvidia drivers

Re: UI randomly crashes

Really the intent here is just to get nouveau out of the picture, I suppose you could also blacklist it and see if this is still reproducible.

Okay my bad, only nouveau drivers were installed and intel drivers weren't. I'm going to uninstall the nvidia drivers and try with the intel ones (iirc it doesn't fix the errro)

Re: UI randomly crashes

The xorg DDX and the kernel driver are two different pairs of shoes. And every log you posted so far shows that you were using xf86-video-intel already (however this is also something you can try, simply remove any xf86-video driver, and let Xorg use the internal modesetting). When I'm talking about blacklisting you have to explicitly blacklist the nouveau kernel module, otherwise it will be loaded regardless.
