Printing delays to HP M251nw

Hello,

I have a friend with an HP M251nw printer, and I'm seeing some strange printing delays when trying to print from her computer running Arch.  The strange part is that my laptop (running Gentoo) doesn't exhibit this 10-15 second delay when printing.  Tests that I've done so far are:

1) Switch the printer from USB to wired network to wireless network
1a) I thought that it could be related to using the in-kernel USB support versus libusb
2) Trying to set it up using a generic PCL5 or PCL6 driver versus the one provided by hplip
3) Various configurations within CUPS

The versions of CUPS and the print driver(s) have been the same between her computer and my laptop.

I haven't seen any direct error messages in the CUPS logs (even when set to 'debug').  There's just a delay of 10-15 seconds before printing will begin.

For my tests, I've been using the first page of a rather large, colourful PDF.

Any thoughts on where to go?

Thank you!

Cheers,
Nathan Zachary
